Judith Faulkner ObituaryJudith Lynn Faulkner, 67, passed away of natural causes Tuesday, January 18, 2016 in Ashland, Ore. Judy was born in Japan, the daughter of a career Army officer and World War II veteran of the 11th Abn Division, Colonel Lyman Faulkner and her mother, Jane Faulkner of Orrick, Mo.
Her childhood was spent in Japan, Germany, Georgia, Virginia, and other U.S. Army postings until she attended high school in Corona Del Mar, Calif. and graduated from college at San Jose State.
Judy was an educated and brilliant woman who worked throughout her career in both business and government. She was proud to have spent her final years associated with Southern Oregon University until her retirement last year. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and also with Oregon Cabaret Theater. She was also a proud member of Soroptimists International and served as the Treasurer of the Ashland chapter.
Judy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her sisters Jill McCaffrey of Seattle, Wash., and Elizabeth Wasserman of Reston, Va.; her brother, Lyman Faulkner of Atherton, Calif.; her five nieces, Kate and Maddy Wasserman, Tara Larson, Amy McKinney, and Michelle Loftis; her two nephews, Col. Sean McCaffrey (U.S. Army, Ret.) and Dustin Wasserman; and their children and grandchildren.
They all knew and loved Judy for her kindness and care. Judy was deeply cherished by her family and her many friends. We all mourn her passing and treasure our loving memories.
A viewing will be held Friday, 6:00 p.m., February 5, 2016 and the funeral service will be at noon, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home in Ashland. Following the funeral service interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery. A reception will follow.
