Ron Green's Obituary
Beloved husband and devoted father, Dr. Ronnie L. Green (Ret. Col., U. S. Army) departed this world May 17, 2006. He is survived by his bride, Beverly Gail, his daughters, Shannon and Christina, their husbands Thomas and David, two precious grandchildren, Alexa and Cutter, his dear mother, Margaret, his sister, Kathryn, and brother, Gary.
Ron held an MA from the University of Arkansas and a Ph D from Wayne State University in Detroit. During his 32 years in the U. S. Army, Ron served in the Office of the Secretary of the Army Public Affairs Office at the Pentagon. Specializing in education programs, Ron designed, wrote and coordinated the United States” Constitution Bicentennial Celebration and WWII Commemoration.
In addition to serving his country, Ron was a theater director, college educator, art designer and actor. He was Chairman of the Department of Theater Arts at Southern Oregon State College from 1979-86. Most recently, Ron acted with the Virginia Shakespeare Festival in Williamsburg, VA.
After receiving a heart transplant in 1994, Ron’s life passion focused on the campaign for National Organ Donation Awareness. A celebration of his life was held May 24 in the Williamsburg United Methodist Church. A funeral was held at Arlington Nation Cemetery. Arrangements by Bucktrout of Williamsburg.
